Preventing violence and keeping The University of Alabama campus safe depends on information from all members of our community – students, employees, and visitors.
The University of Alabama has established a multi-disciplinary Threat Assessment Team, which includes representatives from the Dean of Students Office, Housing and Residential Communities, Office of Student Conduct, Psychology Clinic, UAPD, Title IX Office, Academic Affairs, Human Resources, and the Office of Threat Assessment. This team is tasked with evaluating threat referrals, developing case management plans, and intervening appropriately when necessary.
The mission of the Threat Assessment Team is to identify individuals who may pose a threat of violence to themselves, others, or the UA community, and to intervene to prevent such threats. The team addresses concerning behaviors exhibited by students, employees, visitors, and non-affiliated individuals before a critical incident occurs, aiming to maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone at The University of Alabama.
